LEVI COLWILL
MODELLING 3D GRAPHIC
The process involved working with references to achieve accurate anatomy and facial features, while experimenting with lighting and materials to bring depth and realism. This project highlights skills in 3D modeling, texturing, and rendering pipelines, show casing how digital graphics can merge sports and visual storytelling.

The Challenge of Realism
To approach this, I began with extensive research and reference collection to understand facial anatomy and characteristic features. A base mesh was developed, which acted as the foundation for further sculpting. Using a step-by-step refinement process, details such as skin folds, muscle definition, and subtle facial expressions were added.
One of the biggest challenges in 3D modeling is translating a real-life personality into a digital form without losing authenticity. For this project, the focus was on footballer Levi Colwill, where accuracy of proportions, facial structure, and recognizable details were key. Beyond just sculpting, the challenge lay in blending technical precision with an artistic eye to create a lifelike result.

Idea to Impact in 3D
Textures were created to replicate skin tones and natural imperfections, ensuring the model didn’t feel artificial. Shading technique and material settings enhanced realism, while lighting was carefully chosen to highlight form and depth. Each stage of the workflow was designed to move closer to a final render that feels both believable and visually engaging. The project demonstrates how a technical pipeline spanning modeling, sculpting, texturing, and rendering can be applied to sports figures and personalities. It also reflects the importance of iteration.
